Personal data processing policy

This is a courtesy translation. The binding version of this policy is the Spanish one, which governs in the event of any discrepancy. Colombian data protection law operates in Spanish, and so do any proceedings before the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce.

Before going live: this text is a working draft, not a lawyer-reviewed document. Complete it with the legal name, tax ID and address of the data controller, and have counsel validate it before putting it into production.

1. Data controller

WiseData, domiciled in Bogotá D.C., Colombia. Contact address for personal data matters: datos@wisedataco.com.

2. What information we process

We distinguish two sets of information, with different rules.

Public information about legal entities. Legal name, tax ID (NIT), registry status, economic activity, domicile and financial figures that companies report to the Superintendency of Companies and the Superintendency of the Social Economy. This information does not constitute personal data and is published because it is public by law.

Personal data of those who contact us. Name, email address, organization and the content of the message you voluntarily send through the forms on this site.

We do not publish contact details belonging to natural persons that appear in the official sources. When a reported email or phone number belongs to a natural person, it is excluded from what is displayed.

3. What we use it for

• To handle your request for information, access or a download.
• To send you the data files you asked for.
• To inform you about new analysis and products, if you authorized it. You may withdraw that authorization at any time.
• To comply with legal and contractual obligations.

We do not sell or transfer your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.

4. Your rights as a data subject

Under article 8 of Law 1581 of 2012, you have the right to:

• Access, update and correct your personal data.
• Request proof of the authorization you granted.
• Be informed about how your data has been used.
• File complaints with the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce.
• Revoke your authorization and request deletion of your data, where no legal or contractual duty prevents it.
• Access free of charge the data that has been processed.

5. How to exercise them

Write to datos@wisedataco.com or use the contact form, selecting the deletion option. State your name, the data you want corrected or deleted, and a way to reach you.

We answer queries within ten business days and claims within fifteen business days, under articles 14 and 15 of Law 1581 of 2012.

6. Authorization and proof

Authorization is granted by ticking the corresponding box on our forms, which is never pre-checked. On submission we record the date and time, the page it was sent from, and the version of this policy in force at that moment, as proof of informed consent.

7. Term

Data is retained for as long as it is necessary for the purposes described, or for as long as a legal obligation to retain it exists. This policy applies from its publication and its current version is 2026-09-16. Any substantial change will be communicated through this same channel.
